TOWN HALL RECORDS
      Building permits Antonio and Carol Pensa received a permit Aug. 13 to erect two tents for a wedding on Sept. 21 and 22 at 11 Fly Jib Court, work estimated to cost $960. Wallace Hendry received a permit Aug. 15 to strip and reroof a house and remove interior plaster on framing at 14 Fairview St., work estimated to cost $20,000.

      Galle A daughter, Ruby Lyon Galle, was born Friday, August 8, 2008 at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence to Tristana and Arek W. Galle of Jamestown.

POLICE LOG
      Simple assault charged Virginia Allen, 20, of 11 Harbor St., was charged Aug. 12 with simple assault after a female juvenile with minor injuries was brought to the police station and a complaint was filed, police said. Allen was held overnight at the police station and arraigned the next morning at Newport District Court, police said.

FIRE AND EMS RUNS
      Fire runs 9:15 a.m., Aug. 11, Car 3 and Engine 2 were dispatched to Howland Avenue for a carbon monoxide detector activation. No CO was found. 8:50 p.m., Aug. 12, Car 3 and Engine 3 were sent to Bay View Drive for a vehicle accident with injuries.
