8th grade project ranks in showcase
      The Eighth Grade Project Citizen placed in the top tier of the National Showcase at the National Convention of State Legislators. Their Animal Shelter Project was ranked Superior. Students competed against other schools from across the country and the American Territories. There are five tiers into which the various schools are placed.

Parents should hold kids responsible
      I would like to share my thoughts about the question posed in the Aug. 14 edition of the Press, "What has happened to the days when the police brought home your child and the parent's had the first crack?" Cyclists and motorists need to obey rules
      I was disappointed to see that I was very much misquoted and misrepresented in the recent Jamestown Press article regarding cyclists and motorists. When speaking to the reporter, I hoped to convey the message that both cyclists and motorists need to be cognizant of the rules of the road and more patient with one another.

Injured cyclist clarifies view
      I was disappointed in the article about cyclists and motorists. I think the title 'who rules the road' insinuates there is a competition between cyclists and motorists for control of the roads we all share. I really wish the article could have portrayed the need for more cooperation between cyclists and motorists.
