EMS drill stresses greater accountability
      Organization and accountability are crucial to a successful emergency response, volunteers learned last week at a routine exercise for the Jamestown Emergency Medical Services. JEMS volunteers completed a search and rescue drill at Fort Wetherill.

Town administrator ready for latest challenge
      Town Administrator Bruce Keiser loves his job and he says he considers himself "one of the luckiest town administrators around." He attributes much of his success to a "very capable staff as well as a supportive Town Council and the enthusiastic residents who volunteer their time and talents. They are all extremely helpful," Keiser said.

Fund-raising event for Shaffer family
      On Aug. 15, longtime Jamestown resident Charlie Shaffer died after having been diagnosed with cancer just three weeks earlier. His friends are holding a fundraising dinner on Saturday, Sept. 20, to help his wife, Joanie, with medical expenses and on-going costs.

     Curt Weigold, with Terry Storey and his daughter Kim at the PAC, arrived back in Jamestown to visit family and friends. Curt, who is now located in Ft. Meyers, FL, has not been back this way for over four years.

Governor gives Jamestown community block grant funding
      It was announced at Monday night's Town Council meeting that Town Planner Lisa Bryer helped secure $41,063 from the state under the Community Development Block Grant Program. The original request was for $272,000, but Jamestown has to compete with 30 other municipalities for its share of an ever-shrinking grant, Bryer said.

Annual Seaside Family Cruise raises money for charity
      The time of year has rolled around again when gleaming chrome, radical paint jobs, and rumbling engines find their way to Fort Getty. The ninth annual Jamestown Seaside Family Cruise, a classic car show held every year for vintage car enthusiasts from around the country, is this Sunday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
