      Swistak A son, Mark Walter Swistak III, was born Aug. 18, 2008 at South County Hospital to Julie (Brittain) and Mark W. Swistak, Jr. of Jamestown. Grandparents are Mark and Debbie Swistak, Jack and Mary Brittain, all of Jamestown. The great-grandmother is Helen Anderson, also of Jamestown.

POLICE LOG
      Marijuana possession charged Joseph R. Gladding, 23, of 99 Southwest Ave., was charged Sept. 8 with first offense marijuana possession after police responded to a noise complaint from a neighbor, police said. Gladding was held at the police station where an arraignment was scheduled for Sept. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.
