Marijuana possession charged

Joseph R. Gladding, 23, of 99 Southwest Ave., was charged Sept. 8 with first offense marijuana possession after police responded to a noise complaint from a neighbor, police said.

Gladding was held at the police station where an arraignment was scheduled for Sept. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.

Drunk driving charged

Christopher Martin 28, of Narragansett was charged Sept. 8 with drunk driving and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after he was stopped for driving erratically on Route 138 eastbound, police said.

Martin was held overnight at the police station and an arraignment was scheduled for Sept. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.
