Disney film screening to benefit N.K.H.S. sailing team

There will be a charity screening of Walt Disney Pictures' upcoming release "Morning Light," on Friday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. at Opera House Cinemas in Newport.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the URI and the North Kingstown High School sailing teams.

This exciting true-life documentary tells the inspiring story of a group of intrepid and determined young men and women, on the cusp of adulthood, as they embark on life's first great adventure.

Racing a high-performance 52-foot sloop in the TRANSPAC, the most revered of openocean sailing competitions, the crew matches wits and skills in a dramatic 2500-mile showdown against top professionals.

Tickets are $35 and include the screening and a pre-screening reception with the filmmakers and TRANSPAC team members. A $15 ticket is available for the screening and a question and answer session following the film. For more information, e-mail nksailing@ gmail.com.
