Adventure series begins at Mystic Seaport
2008-10-02 / Upcoming Events
Climbing remote mountains, discovering sunken pirate ships and defying physical expectations are just some of the journeys visitors will experience in the 2008-09 Adventure Series at Mystic Seaport, which runs one day a month from October to April.
First up is Matt Newcomb, a scientist who studies astronomy at the South Pole - and commutes through 12 time zones to do so - will discuss what it's like to study microwaves emitted by the early universe and how to build a telescope out of ice on Thursday, Oct. 16.
