Island artists to exhibit in Bristol show

Five Jamestown artists will be represented in the 2008 Annual Exhibit of the Art League of Rhode Island. Evelyn Thistle Rhodes' pastel "Millbrook Valley, NH" will be included. Another pastel artist, Cynthia Blair, will exhibit her work titled "Edge of the Unknown World." Josy Wright will exhibit her monotype "Luna," which is part of an ongoing series focusing on the ethereal effects of the moon. Jeanne Bunkley 's monotype "Sicily" will also be exhibited. Didi Suydam will also have one work in the exhibit.

The Art League of Rhode Island was founded in 2000 and its inaugural exhibit was held at the Bristol Art Museum. ALRI has 76 artists and honorary members representing some of Rhode Island's finest talent. ALRI will return to the Bristol Art Museum for this year's annual exhibit. The public is invited to the opening reception Friday, Oct. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Bristol Art Museum, Wardwell and Hope Streets, Bristol.
