Piano concert slated for Sunday, Nov. 2
The Jamestown Community Piano will be featured on Nov. 2, at 4 p.m., as pianists from the University of Rhode Island music department will perform at St. Matthew's church. The concert is the second of four concerts planned by the Jamestown Community Piano Association for the 2008-2009 season.
William Grueb, a graduate student preparing for his graduate recital in the spring, will play selections from Samuel Barber's Excursions for Piano, Opus 20 and Sergey Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. He will be joined by Natatia Nugent, Miranda Nero, and Daniel Kutty, all students of Grace Urrico who are giving their senior recitals during the 2008 fall semester. They will play selections from their senior recital programs.
The concert will be the second annual recital concert by URI piano students selected by Manabu Takasawa, associate professor of music at the University of Rhode Island.
The concerts are free. Donations for piano maintenance and performance support are appreciated. For further information, call 423-0515.
