Eluding police charged
Danielle M. Delnero, 28, of Middletown, was charged Oct. 15 with eluding police after she drove through three towns while being pursued by police. The pursuit began in Newport, police said, and then Jamestown police picked up the chase on Route 138. Police said Delnero refused to stop and crossed the Jamestown Bridge and drove to North Kingstown where police there picked up the chase. Delnero turned herself in the next morning, police said.
A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Oct. 21 at Newport District Court, police said.
License violations charged
• Vicki L. Fry, 46, of West Warwick, was charged Oct. 16 with driving with a suspended license after police ran a random check on her tags and learned that the she had an expired driver's license, police said.
Fry was scheduled to appear Oct. 31 in Newport District Court, police said.
• Mark Streich, 51, of East Greenwich, was charged Oct. 17 with driving with a suspended license after police stopped him for speeding on North Main Road, police said.
An arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 14 in Newport District Court, police said.
Suspended license and warrant violation charged Alexander Couvertier, 36, of Newport, was charged Oct. 16 with driving with a suspended license and a warrant violation from Newport Police Department after he was stopped on Route 138 eastbound for erratic operation of a vehicle, police said.
According to police, the plates on the car Couvertier was driving belonged on a different vehicle. When police ran his driver's license, the report came back that it was suspended and Couvertier was wanted by the Newport police department for a warrant violation, police said.
Courvertier was taken to the police station and an arraignment date was scheduled for Oct. 31 at Newport District Court, police said.
