Preserving Jamestown's character is town planner's top priority
      Jamestown Town Planner Lisa Bryer said that the downtown improvement project was the reason she applied for the job nearly 11 years ago. Bryer lived in Jamestown with her family at the time, but she was the principal planner in South Kingstown.

      Patrick Kennedy Congressman Patrick Kennedy is seeking his eighth consecutive term as Rhode Island's First Congressional District representative. Fixing the economy is at the top of Kennedy's list of priorities because he feels the economy has a trickle down effect on other important issues facing Congress today.

Carlisle steps down as recreation soccer head
      After five years at the helm of the Jamestown Soccer Association (JSA) Fall Recreation soccer program, islander Clayton Carlisle will be stepping down. He speaks highly of the program and looks forward to staying involved as a coach. "The kids love it. Recreation soccer is all about Jamestown. People come in on Saturday mornings and they socialize and their kids play.
