Drunk driving charged
• Frank Aquino, 45, of Warwick, was charged Oct. 25 with drunk driving and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after police stopped him for erratic driving on North Main Road, police said.
Aquino was held at the police station where he was arraigned and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Nov. 14 at Newport District Court, police said.
• Steven J. Blanchette, 31, of North Kingstown was charged Oct. 27 with first offense drunk driving and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after police responded to a report of a car, which Blanchette was driving, hitting a parked vehicle on Narragansett Avenue, police said.
Blanchette was held overnight at the police station where he was arraigned. A pre-trial hearing is yet to be scheduled at Newport District Court, police said.
Simple assault charged
Two Jamestown juveniles aged 16 and 17 were charged Oct. 26 with simple assault or battery after police received a report of two juveniles assaulting a third juvenile on Mast Street, police said.
The case is under investigation and was turned over to Family Court.
Gregory A. McCray, 22, of Narragansett, was charged Oct. 28 with exploiting an elder, larceny over $500, and receiving stolen goods after a police department hidden camera recorded him stealing $1,100 from a Jamestown Shores resident in an ongoing undercover investigation. Police followed McCray in his car and stopped him on Hull Street where he was arrested, police said.
McCray was taken directly to Newport District Court where he was arraigned, police said.
