Toymaker looking for holiday donations for needy children

With a mission to bring a smile to the face of every child in Rhode Island this holiday season and to help families in need, Hasbro is launching a new giving program - the Hasbro Holiday Express.

Through this new program, Hasbro is encouraging Rhode Islanders to donate new blankets, boxes of cereal or packages of diapers. These are some of the most needed and requested items for families in need of assistance. For each item collected, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to Rhode Island Toys for Tots. The blankets, cereal and diapers will be distributed to Crossroads RI as well as local food pantries throughout the state.

The Hasbro Holiday Express officially kicks off on Friday, Nov. 7 when Hasbro's life-sized Tonka Dump Truck stops at Hasbro's corporate headquarters in Pawtucket. The Tonka truck will make a second stop on Friday, Nov. 14 at Cardi's Furniture Superstore in West Warwick. Donations of new blankets, boxes of cereal or packages of diapers will be accepted at each of the stops from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To learn more about the Hasbro Holiday Express, call 721-7250 or visit www.hasbro.org/holidayexpress.
