Donate blood and toys this holiday
The Rhode Island Blood Center is teaming up with "Toys for Tots" from Nov. 8 through Dec. 7 to assure that underprivileged children in Rhode Island are remembered during the holiday season.
Blood donors at all of the Blood Center's donor centers are being asked to bring new and unwrapped toys to the centers, which will then be distributed to Toys for Tots, a program run by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Donors will have the opportunity to double their giving at this time of year by helping to save lives, and assuring that underprivileged children have a meaningful holiday.
The South County Center is located at 14 Woodruff Plaza, in Narragansett. It is open Monday and Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Donors are urged to call the RIBC at 800-283-8385, ext. 383 to make an appointment to donate.
