Richard Ellis Hull, 75
Born at home Nov. 28, 1932, he was a life-long Jamestowner, son of the late Merton Caswell Hull, Sr.and Charlotte (Ellis) Hull.
He was employed in the maintenance department at the Jamestown School, followed by many years working for Mrs. Sydney L. Wright and family at Fox Hill Farm. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Life Member of the Jamestown Fire Department, for which his father served as chief for more than 20 years.
He will be remembered by his friends and neighbors in Jamestown Village as Mr. Fix It. He loved to repair furniture and give it away, as well as fixing items for people. He was an avid fisherman, and had favorite rocks on the island from which to catch various kinds of fish.
He is survived by a daughter Sandra Marie (Hull) Walsh of Woonsocket; a son Robert Charles Hull of Idaho; a granddaughter Sara Jane Walsh of Woonsocket, and a greatgranddaughter Phoenix Aurora Teixeira Walsh of Woonsocket. He also leaves behind his sister Shirley May Hull of Jamestown and his exwife and friend Linda (Smith) Hull of South Kingstown. He leaves his niece, Nettie Jane (Caswell) Rank of Connecticut, and nephews, Kenneth Hull Caswell of Jamestown and Andrew Merton Caswell. He was the brother of the late Merton Caswell Hull, Jr. and Barbara J. (Hull) Caswell.
Fagan Funeral Home, North Kingstown, is handling arrangements for the military burial in the Veterans' Cemetery in Exeter, to take place on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at 11 a.m.
