Remembering my father
I want to thank everyone who participated in and supported the 7th annual Peter C. Clarke Memorial Golf Tournament, which was held on Oct. 12 at the Jamestown Golf Course.
We had a perfect fall day on the course with a great turnout from friends and family. A low-key day of golf, a burger and a beer, and to be surrounded by great people is exactly how my father would want to be celebrated.
In addition, we placed a beautiful new memorial bench on the third hole where he spent so much of his life and happiest memories. When we decided to put the bench in, I was overwhelmed by the contributions from so many people and with the generosity and love for my dad. Thank you to those of you who gave.
Similarly, so many people helped with the tournament and donated to the cause. I would like to thank Trattoria Simpatico, Conanicut Marina, Jamestown Designs, B. Thomas Gallery, Pour Judgment, my colleagues at Natixis Global Associates and Jamestown Golf Course who all made generous donations.
I'd also like to thank Errin van Reen, Eliza van Reen, Jay Mulroney and my sister Amanda Gallagher for your help running the tournament. And as always, John Mistowski brought everything together and made it happen. Thank you to John and Paula for your support.
I'm happy to say that we donated $1,000 to the Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department. I have no doubt that the money will be put to good use, and my father would be pleased that the donation went to a local charity so close to his heart.
