Cocaine possession charged
James Killian, 33, of Middletown, was picked up on a warrant Nov. 7 and charged with possession of cocaine, police said.
According to police, when Killian was previously arrested Nov. 2 on a drunk driving charge, they found a scale in his car with white residue. The residue was examined by the Department of Health and determined to be cocaine and a warrant was issued.
Killian was picked up by Jamestown Police and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions the following day, police said. A pretrial hearing at Newport District Court was scheduled for Nov. 14, police said.
Two 16-year-old juveniles, one from Saunderstown and one from North Kingstown, were charged with first offense possession of marijuana on Nov. 8, police said.
According to police, officers found the youths to be in possession of marijuana after they observed a male juvenile run out of the woods and enter a vehicle that was pulled off to the side of the road.
A Family Court date has not yet been set.
