North Kingstown drama troupe stages "Anatomy of Gray"
      Jamestowner Georgia Wright will lead the North Kingstown High School NorTHheatre drama troupe as narrator June Muldoon in Jim Leonard's "Anatomy of Gray" this Friday through Sunday. Set in the late 1800s, "Anatomy of Gray" takes place in Gray, Ind., described by the young narrator as "the most boring place in the world.

Recycle unused or outgrown soccer uniforms
      All past and present Jamestown Soccer Association players from the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 spring competitive seasons can donate their uniforms that have been outgrown or are no longer used to new JSA soccer players. There will be a drop box at the Teen Center from Monday, Nov. 24 to Wednesday, Nov. 26. Hours are Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thanksgiving feast Sunday at library
      The Friends of the Jamestown Library will host a re-creation of the first Thanksgiving on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 2:30 to 4:15 in the library meeting hall. There will be some great stories told and a screening of Charlie Brown's version of the holiday with his friends.

Youth basketball league at rec center
      The Jamestown Recreation Department will offer youth basketball programs starting in January 2009. There will be a Youth Instructional League for kindergarten and first graders every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and a Youth Instructional League for second graders every Monday night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., both sessions beginning on Jan. 5.

Mittens, hats collected for women's center
      With the expectation of a cold and long winter ahead, the staff at the Town Hall will start collecting mittens, scarves, hats and gloves for the annual holiday Mitten Basket. Items for the basket will be accepted as of today. Donations can be made Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will benefit the Newport County Women's Resource Center.

      The Friends of the Jamestown Library will host a talk on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., by Susan West Kurz, who will talk about her book "Awakening Beauty." Susan Kurz nurtured Dr. Hauschka Skin Care, Inc. from a modest import business to the U.S. supplier of the industry's premiere holistic skin care brand.
