Annual Christmas fair returns Dec. 6

Central Baptist Church's annual Christmas Fair will feature a "green" theme and a number of new items. It will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.

A large variety of designerthemed gift baskets will be available for $40 and under. Choices include the Cat's Meow, Puppy Love, Spa Time, Bird Feeder and Unexpected Guest.

Coffee lovers may purchase Jamestown Java in two custompackaged blends. Also on sale will be locally designed tote bags, which are created from recycled materials and can be folded to fit in a purse or pocket.

The fair will feature handmade crafts from around the world. Children and adults in developing countries have created these fair-trade items as a way of supporting themselves.

As in past years, the event also will include custom designed wreaths with fresh greens; handmade winter wear created from colorful fleece fabric and a large assortment of delicious baked goods.

During the fair's silent auction, shoppers may bid on restaurant gift certificates, tickets to plays and movies, spa and other services and works of art.

While parents or grandparents are shopping, children will be able to make a gift at the Kids' Table. Shoppers also may take a break and enjoy a lunch that will feature lobster bisque, sandwiches, salads, and quesadillas.

Central Baptist Church is located at 99 Narragansett Ave. For more information about the fair, call 423-1651.
