Bird sanctuary offers new winter classes
The Norman Bird Sanctuary is offering a number of lectures and hands-on classes for children and adults during the month of December.
Holiday wreath and candle making for families will be on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. Learn to create holiday decorations with a natural twist. Participants will leave with a seasonal candle and wreath of their own creation. The cost is members, $6, adults and $4 for children 3 to 12. The cost for nonmembers is $8 for adults and $6 for children. One free adult per each paid child can attend.
Teaming with Nature: Winter Wonderland will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The engaging, age-appropriate Saturday classes for preschoolers ages 2 to 4 and their parents include animals, crafts, songs, and outdoor discovery. This month, explore the many ways that animals and plants survive in the winter. Participants will bundle up as they experience nature's coldest season through games, animal presentations, and more. The Teaming with Nature program meets on the first Saturday of every month and costs $4 per child for members; non-members are $6. Parents are free.
