Episcopal church to host holiday bazaar
      St. Matthew's annual Christmas Bazaar will be held in the Parish Hall at 87 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a chance to purchase beautiful handmade knitted and crocheted items, jewelry and other affordable gifts, Christmas decorations and wonderful homemade baked treats. There will be a door raffle for various gift baskets.

New art show opening at town hall gallery
      The opening of the Conanicut Island Art Association's next show, "32°" will be next Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Jamestown Town Hall Gallery. There will be an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. and guests are invited to mingle with the artists and enjoy some light refreshments.

Holiday craft show this weekend
      The Melrose Avenue School will be transformed into a shopper's paradise on Saturday, Dec. 6 — filled with a wide variety of homemade items, from stocking stuffers to elegant gifts. The Conanicut Island Art Association hosts this one-day show.

St. Mark to hold Christmas festival
      The annual St. Mark Christmas Festival will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Church Hall. The festival features a "Luck of The Irish," booth, the "Taste and See Café," with homemade soup, chowder and sausage 'n peppers. There will be live music by "Celtic Gathering," from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Play adult volleyball at recreation center
      The Jamestown Recreation Department will offer a winter session of adult recreational volleyball beginning Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the recreation center. The cost for the league is $40 per person and it will run through March 31, every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Sign up at the Recreation Center, 41 Conanicus Ave.

Beauty expert to speak tonight at library
      The Friends of the Jamestown Library have rescheduled a talk by Susan West Kurz, who will discuss her book "Awakening Beauty." The new date will be Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. Kurz nurtured Dr. Hauschka Skin Care, Inc. from a modest import business to the U.S. supplier of the industry's premiere holistic skin care brand.
