Felony drug possession charged

Valen Coble, 19, of Spindrift Street, was charged Nov. 29 with possession of drugs with intent to deliver. He was also charged with underage possession of alcohol, police said. According to police, the drugs and alcohol were found during a routine traffic stop on Hamilton Avenue.

Coble was held overnight and arraigned at the police station. A pre-trial hearing has not been scheduled, police said.

Drunk driving charged

• Katie Labore, 30, of Narragansett, was charged Nov. 29 with first offense drunk driving and refusal to submit to a Breathalyzer test.

According to police, Labore was stopped on Hamilton Avenue for erratic operation of a vehicle.

Labore was held overnight at the police station. A pre-trial hearing has not been scheduled, police said.

• Amanda Pereira, 21, of 58 Dory Street, was charged Nov. 29 with first offense drunk driving.

According to police, Pereira was operating a vehicle that struck a pole.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 19, police said.

Driving with suspended license

Walter Evans, 30, of Newport, was charged Nov. 29 with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop, police said.

A pre-trial date has not been set, police said.

Possession of

marijuana charged

Matthew Bouthillier, 21, of Exeter, was charged Nov. 30 with possession of marijuana after his vehicle was stopped at Fort Getty.

According to police, a Jamestown officer assisted the state's Department of Environmental Management, who initially spotted Bouthillier and stopped him for suspicious behavior.

Bouthillier was held overnight and arraigned at the police station. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 12, police said.

Simple assault charged

William Melucci, 40, of 45 Pemberton Ave., was charged Nov. 26 with simple assault and disorderly conduct after allegedly slapping a 15-year-old in the face on Narragansett Avenue, police said.

Melucci was held and arraigned at the police station. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 12 in Newport District Court, police said.

Bench warrant violation

Jorge Morales, 62, of New London, Conn., was charged Nov. 27 with a bench warrant violation from Newport District Court during a routine traffic stop, police said.

Morales was held overnight and arraigned in Newport District Court on Nov. 28, police said.

Underage possession charged

.. Kyle Lemke, 20, of 805 East Shore Rd., was charged Nov. 28 with underage possession of alcohol, police said. According to police, the officer observed Lemke throw a bottle of alcohol in the grass as the officer approached him.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 19 at Newport District Court, police said.

.. Gregg Grafton, 18, and a juvenile, 17, both of North Kingstown, were charged Nov. 28 with underage possession of alcohol, police said. According to police, the officer observed alcohol in plain view during a traffic stop on Conanicus Avenue.

A pre-trial hearing has not yet been scheduled for Grafton and the juvenile case was referred to Family Court, police said.

.. James Mullin, 19, of Westport Point, Mass., was charged Nov. 28 with underage possession of alcohol after an officer observed him in possession of alcohol walking down the street near the corner of Highland Drive and Walcott Avenue, police said.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 12 in Newport District Court, police said.

.. Justin Coughlin, 18, of North Kingstown, and Ethan Cooper, 18, of Saunderstown, were both charged Nov. 28 with underage possession of alcohol. According to police, officers observed both men walking down Highland Drive with alcohol in their possession. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Dec. 12 at Newport District Court, police said.
