Jeannette A. Laflamme, 79

Jeannette A. (Remillard) Laflamme of Jamestown, formerly of Springfield, Mass., died peacefully Nov. 30, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Emile N. Laflamme, with whom she celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past July.

Born January 12, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Elzear and Clara Remillard. Jeannette loved spending time with her family,

to whom she devoted her life, and her many dear friends. She was a very talented seamstress, painter, and gardener.

She is survived by her children, Maurice (Moe) Laflamme and his wife Mary-Ann of Jamestown; Linda Laflamme and her husband Kenneth Gendall of Haverhill, Mass.; Lana Romano and her husband Michael of Barrington; Lori Prior and her husband Richard, of Glastonbury, Conn.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Pamela Segerstedt and her husband Richard of Walpole, Mass. She was predeceased by her son Robert Laflamme. She is survived by three sisters, Bertha Millette, Lorraine Missette, and Cecile Benoit, all of Massachusetts; and predeceased by her brothers Harvey, Roger, Maurice, and sisters Julie, Lillian, and Nella. She had nine grandchildren, Heather Gay and husband David of Westwood; Kara Ibarra and husband Raul of Providence; Reece, Noel and Marc Laflamme of Jamestown; Michael Romano; Jennifer, Jessica and Caitlin Prior. She had five great-grandchildren with another on the way.

The funeral was yesterday from the Memorial Funeral Home in Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark Church.
