Nothing to do? Visit Roger Williams Park Zoo!

Roger Williams Park Zoo is ringing in "zoo-thousand and nine" by offering free admission for all on New Year's Day, Jan. 1. When New Year's Day is done, visitors can still enjoy a winter visit with the animals at a discount; the zoo is offering half-priced winter admission from Jan. 2 through Feb. 28. Half-priced admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and $3 for children ages 3 to 12. Zoo members and children under three are always free.

A winter visit to the zoo offers a unique experience and a great way to beat cabin fever. Coldhardy animals like snow leopards, penguins, bison and others may be more active.

The zoo has a number of special events planned throughout the winter as well. Toddler Time will be held on select Fridays— Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30 and Feb. 6, 13 and 27. Parents and their little ones can explore mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians through educational activities, animal encounters, stories and crafts. Activities run from 10 a.m. to noon in the zoo's Education Center, and are free with zoo admission. For more information on this and other upcoming events, visit www.rogerwilliamsparkzoo.org or call 785-3510.
