Learn about geocaching at library
Join the Friends of the Jamestown Library on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. for a lively program on geocaching with guest presenter Chris Kracik.
Kracik has been caching since 2004 as BBWolf of team BBWolf+3Pigs. He has found over 1,000 geocaches in 25 states and three countries, and has hidden over 100 in Rhode Island. Kracik is an engineer, working on submarine systems for the Navy.
Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache anywhere in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
