Chorus to begin spring singing
      The Jamestown Community Chorus, now entering its 60th year, will begin rehearsals on Monday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. for its spring concerts. Additional singers in all sections— soprano, alto, tenor, and bass—are invited to join. Auditions are not required.

Learn about geocaching at library
      Join the Friends of the Jamestown Library on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. for a lively program on geocaching with guest presenter Chris Kracik. Kracik has been caching since 2004 as BBWolf of team BBWolf + 3 Pigs. He has found over 1,000 geocaches in 25 states and three countries, and has hidden over 100 in Rhode Island.

Bird count this Saturday
      Due to the inclement weather forecast for last Saturday, the Conanicut Island Christmas Bird Count has been rescheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 3. Interested birders should meet at the Jamestown Police Station at 7 a.m. with warm clothing, binoculars, a field guide, and sturdy shoes in hand.
