Drug possession charged

• Michael Shurko, 50, of Cranston, was charged Dec. 21 with crack cocaine possession after police entered a house he was in on a search warrant, police said.

Shurko was held at the police station, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions as a probation violator, police said.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 2 at Newport District Court 2, police said.

• Elijah Gadoury, 24, of Portsmouth, was charged Dec. 28 with first offense marijuana possession after police stopped his car on Route 138, police said.

Gadoury was held at the police station, where he was arraigned, police said.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.

Drug possession and

drunk driving charged

John Duggan, 41, of 305 Seaside Drive, was charged Dec. 27 with first offense marijuana possession, first offense drunk driving and refusal to submit to a Breathalyzer test.

According to police, Duggan was stopped for driving erratically on East Shore Road.

Duggan was held at the police station and a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.

Drunk driving charged

• Charles Gladding, 55, of 113 Howland Ave., was charged Dec. 27 with first offense drunk driving and refusal to submit to a Breathzlyzer test after a routine traffic stop, police said.

A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Jan. 9 in Newport District Court, police said.

• William Farrell, 45, of 409 Sampan Ave., was charged Dec. 28 with first offense drunk driving, refusal to take a Breathalyzer test and parole violation, police said.

According to police, Farrell was stopped for erratic driving on East Shore Road.

Farrell was held at the police station and an arraignment was held Dec. 29 in Newport District Court, police said.

• John Bishara, 37, of Saunderstown, was charged Dec. 28 with first offense drunk driving and refusal to submit to a Breathzlyzer test after police stopped him for erratic driving on West Wind Drive, police said.

Bishara was arraigned at the police station and a pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.

Suspended license charge • Jennifer Wagner, 38, of Newport, was charged Dec. 19 with driving on a suspended license, police said.

According to police, Wagner's vehicle was disabled when officers discovered the license violation. Wagner was held overnight at the police station and arraigned by a Justice of the Peace. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Jan. 2, police said.

• Thomas Minuto, 36, of Narragansett, was charged Dec. 27 with driving on a suspended license after police stopped his car on Route 138 eastbound.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9 at Newport District Court, police said.
