Anthony T. LaFazia, 82

Anthony T. "Skippy" LaFazia,

82, of Jamestown died peacefully Dec. 26, 2008 at home. He was the beloved husband of Isobel (Stephen) LaFazia for 56 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas and Palma (LaMastro) LaFazia.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII and Korea. He was the owner of LaFazia Brothers Painting Company before retiring.

An all around guy, he enjoyed fishing, clamming and fixing things. He was a communicant of St. Mark Church.

Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Cheryl LaFazia of Jamestown; a son and his wife, Thomas and Carol LaFazia of Jamestown; a brother, William LaFazia of Warwick; a sister, Viola Vojik of Chicago, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Thomas LaFazia, Michelle LaFazia, Marissa Caito, Alicia Caito, Jonathan Caito and Amanda Caito.

His funeral was held Dec. 30 from the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mark Church, Jamestown. Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Jamestown Fire Department, 50 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, RI 02835 will be appreciated.
