Multiple charges

Troy T. Davis, 31, of North Kingstown, was charged on Dec. 30 with first offense driving with a suspended license and first offense possession of marijuana after he was stopped for speeding on Route 138 East near the toll plaza, police said.

Davis was taken to the police department where he was arraigned and a pre-trial hearing was sched- uled for Jan. 4 at Newport District Court, according to police.

Bench warrant violation

John R. Kaiser, 41, of 65 Frigate St., was charged on Dec. 31 with a bench warrant violation from 4th Newport District Court after voluntarily turning himself in for the outstanding warrant, police said.

Kaiser was taken to the ACI where a court date will be determined, according to police.
