The Rhode Island Historical Society is now recruiting energetic, inquisitive lovers of history to be volunteer museum guides and educators at its John Brown House Museum in Providence.

The Society is also recruiting guides for its Summer Walks historical walking tour program, which presents tours of Benefit Street and College Hill.

Classes will be held Wednesday mornings from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The museum is located at 52 Power St., Providence, at the corner of Benefit, and parking is available onsite. There will also be one evening session on Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and this class will be held at the Aldrich House (RIHS headquarters) located at 110 Benevolent St., Providence.

Pre-registration for training classes is required. For more information, e-mail dsantos@rihs. org or call 273-7507, ext. 60.
