Drunk driving charged

David Desousa, 27, of Fall River, Mass., was charged Jan. 12 with drunk driving after he was stopped for speeding on Route 138 West, according to police.

Desousa was held at the police department where he was arraigned. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 1 at Newport District Court, police said.
