Bottis, Gorter exchange vows in December

Bethany Ann Bottis and Kurt Andrew Gorter were married Dec. 1, 2007, at 6:30 p.m., at the Astor's Beechwood Mansion, Newport, with the Honorable John DeCubellis officiating. The reception was held at Astor's Beechwood. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William and Valerie Bottis of Jamestown. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Karen Gorter of North Kingstown.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, William Bottis. Matron of Honor was Ellen Sallar. Bridesmaids were Tara Lafleur, Megan Weeden, Melinda Groff and Erin and Megan Gorter, sisters of the groom.

The best men were Mark Kwolek and Robert Carlson. The usher was William Bottis, brother of the bride.

The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.

The bride attended college at the University of Rhode Island and is completing her master's degree at URI. The groom attended Rhode Island College and is employed by the town of Narragansett.

They will make their home in Jamestown.
