IYRS career day offers job possibilities

The International Yacht Restoration School will host the third annual Marine Industry Career Day on Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Boat builders, boat yards, and marine manufacturers are in need of skilled workers. Attendees can meet with regional employers, get information on career and training opportunities, see hands-on demonstrations, and learn about the skills needed to work in the marine industry, a field where jobs are in high demand in the region. Over 30 companies are expected to attend the one-day event, the only marine-exclusive career fair in Rhode Island.

Held with support from the United Way of Rhode Island, career day is part of a state-wide initiative to help more individuals start careers in the marine industry and help current employees strengthen their skills and career prospects.
