Special Olympics sports carnival returns

Special Olympics Rhode Island's 30th Annual Sports Celebrity Carnival is back. This year's event will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at the Rhode Island Convention Center, from 5 to 9 p.m.

General admission is $5 per person. Group rates are available by calling the Special Olympics office at 823-7411.

Over 5,000 sports fans are expected to attend the event, featuring sports stars such as Rajon Rondo and Glen Davis from the Boston Celtics; Joe Franchino from the New England Revolution; Steve MacIntyre and Adam McQuaid from the Providence Bruins; Harlem Globetrotter "Buckets" Blakes; and former New England Patriots player, Joe Andruzzi.
