CIAA received grant for new art space

The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) has awarded $500 to support the establishment of an art gallery space in Jamestown's Town Hall. The grant was awarded to the Conanicut Island Art Association, which will be responsible for the management of this new community art space.

Randall Rosenbaum, executive director of the state arts council, said, "RISCA is pleased to support the Conanicut Island Art Association, and particularly this project, which brings art into a wonderful new public space in Jamestown. Now when people visit their town hall, they can celebrate and experience the cultural richness of this special community."

Mr. Rosenbaum will announce the grant award from the state arts council at the opening event and reception for the new Town Hall gallery.

The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts is a state agency, supported by appropriations from the Rhode Island General Assembly and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
