Drunk driving charged

Shawnn M. Huelbig, 58, of Cranston, was charged Feb. 2 with first offense drunk driving and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test.

Police received a BOLO (be on the lookout) from the Newport Police Department for a vehicle operating erratically and stopped Huelbig on Route 138 westbound, police said.

Huelbig was held at the police station for arraignment and a pretrial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 15 at Newport District Court, police said.

Suspended license and marijuana

possession charged

Brandon Leo, 22, of Hope, was charged Feb. 2 with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana after police stopped him on Beacon Avenue, police said.

Leo was held at the police station where he was arraigned and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 15 at Newport District Court, police said.

Brian Stetson, 35, of North Kingstown, was charged Feb. 3 with driving with a suspended license after police stopped him on Route 138 westbound, police said.

Stetson was arraigned at the police station but was not held. A pre-trial hearing was scheduled for Feb. 15, police said.
