Musicians can apply for music award

The Jamestown Community Chorus is seeking applications for its second annual Music Award.

The award, supported in part by a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation, is intended to encourage interest in music among members of the Jamestown music community. The award will support a project or activity up to a maximum of $500. It can fund expenses associated with the musical development of the recipient and can include such items as vocal or instrument lessons, tuition for a music-related course or program, books and materials, music, summer camp, undergraduate or graduate education, or an instrument.

Applicants must be in grade 6 or up. Adults and seniors are encouraged to apply.

Completed applications are due on March 31 and the award recipient will be notified by April 12. The Jamestown Community Chorus plans to present the award at their spring concert.

Applications are available at the Jamestown library, Baker's Pharmacy, or online at www. jamestownri.com/chorus/. Call Laura Yentch at 560-0071 for more information.
