Jamestown Chamber supports "Night for..."

The Jamestown Chamber of Commerce is soliciting letters of interest from local organizations to be the 2008 recipient of funds from its annual "Night for..." fund-raiser. In the past, the Chamber has raised funds for the Dutch Island Lighthouse, Jamestown Historical Society and Jamestown Farm community. Rather than pre-select an organization to be this year's recipient, the Chamber is looking for local groups to submit a letter stating why they should be the recipient, what the funds would be used for, and how the organization would assist in event coordination. Any organization selected to be a fund recipient is expected to assist with event coordination from ticket sales and promotions to soliciting donations and event set-up and breakdown.

Priority will be given to Jamestown-based organizations and requests to use funds for specific projects vs. general operating funds. Submissions must be postmarked by Friday, March 28 and mailed to Jamestown Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 35, Jamestown, RI 02835.
