Library to host poetry appreciation group
      A new group of people who enjoy poetry reading, writing and the appreciation of the art form began last month at the Jamestown library. The group will continue to meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, at 12:30 p.m. in the Sydney L. Wright Museum room at the library.

Photographers invited to enter gallery show
      The next Town Hall Gallery exhibit will be the "All-Island All-Photography Show." Every Jamestown resident may enter, either by being or becoming a member of the Conanicut Island Art Association. The cost of an individual membership is $20. New members may join when entering the show.

      The Trustees of the Jamestown Library held their February meeting and elected the following officers for the board for 2008-2009. The new officers are: Heidi Keller Moon, chairperson; Katherine Wineberg, vice-chairperson; Delia Klingbeil, treasurer; and Kevin Carty, secretary.

SELAC meeting to host special guest
      The Jamestown Special Education Local Advisory Committee (SELAC) will feature Carol West, of North Kingstown High School, at its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. The session will be in the teachers lounge at the Melrose school.
