Garden club hosts talk on composting

Quononoquott Garden Club's first meeting of 2008 will be held at St. Matthew's Parish Hall on Monday, April 7.

The business meeting will begin at 11 a.m., with President Jill Meyer presiding. The club's fundraising plant sale, set for Saturday, May 17, will be a major discussion topic.

Newest club member, Nancy Escher, will present a program at 1 p.m. called "What Every Gardener Wants - Compost." She will explain the myths and truths about compost and how to turn kitchen waste into "gold."

The new board members will prepare a special Provencal-style luncheon for members and their guests.
