Air Force musicians perform free concert

Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline has announced a free performance by the United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants on April 13, at 3 p.m. at the VMA Arts and Cultural Center.

The United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants represents the best-of-the-best in musical talent and education within the United States Air Force.

The Concert Band, the premier band of the United States Air Force, is a world-class symphonic wind ensemble. The 52-member band performs a wide variety of musical repertoire from light classics, popular favorites and instrumental features to the most serious classical transcriptions and original works for the band idiom.

The Singing Sergeants, the official 23-voice chorus of the United States Air Force, perform a wide ranging musical repertoire including opera, traditional and contemporary choral literature, oratorio, folk songs, pop standards, musical theater and jazz - with an emphasis on the choral music of America.

The United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants performance is free and open to the public. For ticket information, call the VMA box office at 272-4VMA.
