Classics, followed by jazz at URI

The University of Rhode Island will offer a weekend of concerts April 12 and 13 at the Fine Arts Center on campus.

The URI Symphony Orchestra will perform on Saturday at 8 p.m., and two concerts by different URI Chamber Ensembles will be offered on Sunday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Admission for each concert is $8 for the general public, $2 for students, with seating on a first-come basis. The box office opens 45 minutes before the concert. The concert hall is handicapped accessible and parking is in the lot behind the Fine Arts Center off Bills Road.

In addition to these offerings, the first concert of URI's spring semester four-night Jazz Series will be on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 pm.
