AARP to meet in Newport

The next meeting of the Newport County Chapter of AARP will be held on Monday, April 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Fenner Avenue Hall in Newport.

The guest speaker for the session will be Dennis Taber, who is a retired Rhode Island State Police Lieutenant. Lt. Taber will speak on Constables and their role.

The membership committee will be on site at 12:45 p.m. for those who wish to pay their dues or to join the organization. New members should bring their national AARP card to register at the local chapter.

Members are reminded to bring non-perishable food for the on-going pantry project.
