Meet Ida Lewis at annual meeting

The Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation will present a visit with lighthouse keeper Ida Lewis at its 24th Annual Meeting, which is to be held on Tuesday, April 22, at the Newport Yacht Club on Long Wharf. Ms. Lewis, portrayed by actress Marilyn Murphy Meardon, will tell of her famous rescues and will be available afterwards to answer questions about her life and illustrious career in a job usually performed by men.

The meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. with a short business meeting at 6 p.m., followed by the presentation. Hors d'oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. The public is encouraged to attend this informative and interesting historic event.
