OBITUARIES
Noella Edna Charon, 90, of Whale Rock Road, died May 12, 2008 at Grace Barker Nursing Center in Warren. She was the wife of the late Dr. George E. Charon. Born in Manville, she was the daughter of the late Euchariste and Victoria (Tousignant) Raquier. She was a communicant of St. Mark Church in Jamestown. Originally living in Providence, the Charon family spent summers in Jamestown, and moved there after retirement in the mid 1980s. She is survived by five daughters, Monique DeFusco of Johnston, Louise Jones of Wilmot, N.H., Rita Charon of N.Y., Camille Hamel of Bristol and Michele Pavitt of Brunswick, Maine; a sister Pauline Bouvier, of Manville; and seven grandchildren. Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 School House Rd., Warren, where the family will receive friends tonight, May 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church. Burial will be at St. Mark Cemetery in Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown, RI 02835. Frances Ross Sankey, 89 Frances Ross Sankey, 89, of Edinburgh, Va. and formerly of Jamestown, died May 11, 2008 at Pine Meadow Assisted Living in Woodstock. She was the wife of the late Robert James Sankey, to whom she was married for 67 years. Born Oct. 6, 1918 in Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late S. Frank and Josephine (Donnelly) Dunning. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mary M. Morgan and a son, Robert J. Sankey II, both of Virginia; five grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren.
