'Guys' wanted for singing group

The Men's Chorus of Jamestown will start its thirteenth summer season of singing tonight, Thursday, June 19, at the Senior Center.

The chorus is open to men and boys of all ages regardless of singing experience. There are no auditions and only a small fee for music. For guys that have ever wanted to get together to sing for fun, this is the group- no pressure, just singing.

Most rehearsals will be on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. The end of season concert will be on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Pieces on this year's repertoire include, "Brothers, Sing On!," "Bless The Lord O My Soul," "Salvation Is Created," "Conanicut," "Down in the Valley" and "The Longest Time," by Billy Joel.

Throughout the years, the guys have sung the National Anthem at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket for the AAA Pawtucket Red Sox.

Rehearsals will take place at the Conanicut Grange/Senior Center at 6 West St. in Jamestown. Visit www.jamestownri.com/ifdss/men for further information or call director B.J. Whitehouse at 423- 1574.
