Garden club treats residents to Town Hall landscaping effort
      Something new has been added to Town Hall on Narragansett Avenue. Over the weekend the property was landscaped due to a gift of $4,000 from the Quononoquott Garden Club. Club President Jill Meyer said that members voted to budget the funds to help with this civic beautification pr oject.

      There's a vibrant new restaurant making a name for itself in Newport. Everyday Gourmet is owned and managed by Peter Liberati and Jared Furtado. The two young men grew up in Jamestown and were high school buddies. They graduated from North Kingstown High School in 2001.

Tennis event raises funds for local charities

Transfer station sticker price raised to $100

      The Town Council voted unanimously to approve an annual transfer station fee increase that would boost the cost of permits from $65 to $100 per year. The council discussed the matter at length at its Monday meeting and decided that the cost of operations warranted the price hike.
