Spend Sunday night at East Ferry with Atwater Donnelly

Summer Music in Jamestown continues at East Ferry Memorial Square this Sunday, July 20, at 6:30 p.m. with Atwater Donnelly, a Rhode Island-based folk music duo.

This team met as volunteers at Stone Soup Coffee House in Providence in 1987 and have been singing together ever since. They have traveled widely here and abroad, studying and performing an impressive variety of folk and ethnic styles.

Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly will present a joyous concert of traditional Celtic ballads, dance tunes, a cappella pieces, sea shanties and American songs, as well as original works. They blend unusual harmonies, and accompany themselves on guitar, mountain dulcimer, tin whistle, harmonica, banjo, spoons, bones, Australian monkey pods, rain sticks and other surprises. This concert will appeal to all ages, and audience participation is encouraged.

Admission is free, so bring the whole family for a most enjoyable evening at East Ferry Memorial Square.

This concert is sponsored by the Jamestown Press and Jamestown Parks and Recreation. In case of rain, the concert will be held across the street at the Jamestown Recreation Center.
