CIAA seeks artists for watercolor show

Rhode Island artists are invited to submit their work to the Conanicut Island Art Association's upcoming "Watercolors Galore" show. Paintings of traditional watercolor, as well as any waterbased medium will be considered for the exhibit.

Members, non-members and non-Jamestown residents are welcome to submit their work. "Watercolors Galore" will open Thursday, Feb. 19, at Jamestown Town Hall Gallery.

Artists may enter up to three pieces. All art must be wired and ready to hang, with no saw tooth hangers. Maximum size is 48 inches by 48 inches. Maximum weight is 20 pounds. Non-member fees are $15 for the first piece and $5 for each remaining piece. Cost to members is $10 for the first piece and $5 for all other pieces. At least one piece must be for sale.

Three prizes will be awarded: $100 for first prize, $75 for second and $50 for third.

Drop-off will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Jamestown Town Hall, 93 Narragansett Ave. Details will be available on the association website, www.jamestownri.com/ciaa.
