Zoning approves police department variance

The Zoning Board of Review at its Jan. 27 meeting unanimously approved an application for a special use permit and a variance by the Town of Jamestown.

The application for a special use permit and the extension of special use permits as well as a dimensional variance for the 1,190-square foot addition to the existing police station at 250 Conanicus Ave. was unanimously approved.

The variance was for the building to be 44-feet 11-inches from the front lot line where 50-feet is required. The property is located in a public zoning district and contains 60,000 square feet.
